Fear of IT or ED raids seems to be forcing many traders, businessmen, industrialists and entrepreneurs to queue up to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is in power at the Centre. With the BJP letting loose CBI, IT and ED sleuths on the businessmen-politicians, there is alarm among them. The CBI is targeting businessmen close to the politicians, who belong to non-BJP parties. The sleuths are knocking the door and are giving them torrid time. Unable to bear it, these businessmen are deciding to join the BJP as it could make the sleuths go slow against them. In Andhra Pradesh, those close to the Telugu Desam Party seem to be targeted more.
For instance, the managing director of Vizag Pofiles Company and the president of the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh have joined the BJP. Both have been closer to the TDP establishment till now. But, afraid that there would be cases against them, they have taken the plunge. Similarly, famed entrepreneur of north Andhra region N Eswara Rao, who is said to be close to TDP Andhra Pradesh president Kala Venkat Rao, too has joined the BJP. According to sources, Rao was afraid that there would be raids on them. If sources are to be believed, more businessmen could join the BJP in the coming days.
