A person's attempt to demolish former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh late NTR triggered massive protests and unrest in Andhra Pradesh. To bring the situation under control, the cops showed up at the spot and Section 144 came into effect in the concerned region, reports say.

The shocking incident was reported in the Durgi area that falls under the Guntur district’s Macherla area. The TDP leaders and activists who were not happy with what happened with NTR’s statue have started a protest against the incident.

As the TDP leaders are staging protests against this, the cops have arrested a few TDP leaders on a precautionary measure, which did not go well with the TDP supporters and sympathisers.

NTR's son Nandamuri Ramakrishna had condemned the incident and demanded the government to place people who were responsible for this behind the bars as the attempt to destroy the statue is like insulting the entire Telugu nation.

Former Minister and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Nara Lokesh took to social media to share the video of a person trying to demolish an NTR statue with a hammer. He lashed out at the YSRCP and accused the leaders of not even leaving the statues of prominent leaders.
