Telangana Telugu Desam is buoyed up because the Congress has agreed to give it 15 seats. In fact, Chandrababu himself told the TTDP leaders to agree to whatever the Congress gives. The biggest beneficiaries of this agreement would be the TDP leaders from Hyderabad city. Even last time, a majority of the TDP seats were from Hyderabad city. It is another matter that most of them, including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, have defected to the TRS.
TDP sources revealed that Chandrababu has, however, asked the partymen not to leave Serilingampalli constituency. The TDP has polled maximum number of votes and got highest majority in Serilingampalli constituency. TDP got a majority of over 75000 votes. The constituency has a huge settler population and a majority of them belong to a caste that backs the TDP to the hilt. Similarly, the party is also insisting on Jubilee Hills, another constituency with a huge settler population. Bhavya Cements owner and noted industrialist Anand Prasad is likely to be fielded from Serilingampalli, while Vallabhaneni Anil is likely to be fielded from Jubilee Hills. Anand Prasad is said to be very close to Nandamuri Balakrishna. Similarly, the TDP is also demanding Kukatpalli constituency, which again has a huge settler population. It is planning to field senior leader I Peddi Reddy from there. The TDP is also insisting on Qutbullahpur, Ibrahimpatnam, Maheswaram, Rajendranagar and Khairatabad. It wants these seats because the TDP has a fairly good party network in these places. Chandrababu has reportedly told the TDP leaders that if needed, he would even speak to Rahul Gandhi and get these seats allotted to the TDP.
