TDP worried that more leaders could go Divya Vani way

Even before it could celebrate the success of the Ongole Mahanadu, the TDP is facing serious trouble. Its firebrand spokesperson and actress-turned-politician Divya Vani has resigned from the party. She levelled serious allegations on the party’s leadership before leaving the party. She has followed Sadineni Yamini in criticising the TDP leadership.

Now the real worry is that more women leaders of the party are said to be looking to revolt. At least two women leaders from North Andhra and two more from Rayalaseema are said to be planning to revolt against the party leadership. The TDP leadership is said to be working over time to ensure that these women leaders do not level any allegations against the party.

Sources say that one senior woman leader from Rayalaseema, who had even served as a minister in Chandrababu government, is planning to raise a banner of revolt. The party has already appointed another leader as the incharge of her assembly constituency. Sources say that she could go public attacking the party in the days to come. Another woman leader too is said to be planning to go public exposing the party leadership.

In North Andhra too, there is a competition between several women politicians of the TDP. Recently, a young politician has gone to the extent of slapping her thigh, a gesture usually associated with men. This is being seen as a result of the battle for one-upmanship within the TDP. The TDP is worried that these leaders too could take to the media and expose the soft underbelly of the party.
