Tejwaswi Yadav Becomes Ek Din Ka Sultan

Update: 2020-11-12 08:23 GMT
RJD boss Tejaswi Yadav would go down in the history of Indian politics as the person who got congratulations as CM of Bihar without ever becoming one. On November 9, Tejaswi Yadav celebrated his birthday. The results of the assembly elections were to be announced on November 10.

With most survey agencies predicting a Mahagathbandhan victory in the polls, there was festivity all around and many began addressing Tejaswi as Chief Minister sahib. Tejaswi began trending on the social media. On twitter four of the top ten hashtags had Tejaswi Yadav's name and one of them was #CMTejaswaiYadav. Thousands began using this hashtag and began greeting him as the chief minister.

But the very next day, it became soon clear that the opinion pollsters had egg on their face as the BJP established a clear lead over the Mahagathbandhan. The BJP began leading in a majority of the constituencies and the hopes of the Maha Gath Bandhan began to be dashed. By evening it was clear that Tejaswi Yadav may have to wait for another five years to become the chief minister . Nevertheless. Tejaswi became the only non-CM who got addressed as Mr Chief Minister for at least one day. Thus he ended up being the proverbial 'Ek Din Ka Sultan.'
