Telangaan Maiden budget:Key Highlights

It wad a historic moment  for Telangana State Finance Minister Etela Rajender as he presented the first budget of new State of Telangana in the State Legislative Assembly.The budget is for 10 months and the highlights of the budget speech are as follows:

Total planned expenditure is Rs 48648 crore, non-planned expenditure Rs 51989 crore. Budgetary deficit is Rs 17398 crore. Total budgetary allocation is Rs 100637 crore

Poultry industry would be recognised as agriculture. Poultry workers would be recognised as farmers. The government would allocate Rs 16.03 crore for dairy development

10crs for Farm Mechanisation and Rs 20Crs for Crop Colony

-9,000 tanks to be revived this year with Rs 2,000 crore

Rs 2000 crore would be allocated to improve and rejuvenate 9000 water reservoirs and tanks this year.

Rs 50 crore allocated for making Telangana as the seed bank of the nation

The Telangana government will give ex-gratia to 459 Telangana martyrs at the rate of 10 lakh per bereaved family. The government has allocated Rs 100 crore for the purpose

Rs 2000 crore for water grids.

4 lift irrigation projects in Mahabubnagar. 6500 crores of total budget for irrigation.

-Rs 17,000 crore farm loans waived, Rs 4,250 crore deposited in bank

-Rs 100 crore for the welfare of Telangana martys’ families.
