As per the Survey 'India Corruption Study' conducted by the Centre for Media Studies, Tamil Nadu holds the worst record of being the Most Corrupt among 13 states in India. Much to everyone's shock, Telangana is only next to Tamil Nadu in this category. Corruption in these states is more than what it was in Bihar. Andhra Pradesh is at Fourth Position. Telugu States occupying 2 out of the Top 4 spots in corruption list is something Rulers need to feel ashamed.
About 75 percent of Respondents opined corruption has either increased or remained the same in the past one year. 25 Percent Respondents admitted paying bribe to avail public services during the same period. People have been paying bribe for obtaining even Aadhaar and Voter ID Cards.
Over 2,000 Households from 200 rural and urban areas in 13 States (Delhi, AP, Telangana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and Bihar) have been covered during the survey. Opinion of respondents were sought on 11 Public Services such as Public Distribution System (PDS), Health, School Education, Electricity, Water Supply, Police, Banking Services, Transportation, Land & Housing, Judiciary and MGNREGS.
