AP Government stopped supplying power to Telangana couple of days ago pointing out over Rs 4,000 crore unpaid bills of the Youngest State. From Saturday midnight, Even Telangana Government stopped sharing power with Andhra Pradesh.
As per AP Reorganisation Act 2014, Total Power Generated in United AP is being divided in this ratio - 46% for AP & 53.89% for Telangana. While AP receives 1,054 MegaWatts, Telangana gets 1,513 MegaWatts.
TSGenco Chairman D Prabhakar Rao says there willn't be any impact on Telangana if AP stops sharing power. He further adds, 'Such a move would eventually benefit Telangana State'.
As of now, None of the Telugu States might face any issues as both of them are power-surplus states. But, It could lead to more troubles in future if this dispute isn't solved.
