The Congress Party is in a fix. After a complete drubbing in the Assembly election, the party cadre is thoroughly demoralised and the High Command is bereft of ideas. It does not know what to do. But, the very same leaders , who badly lost the assembly elections, now want the MP seats. This has become a big headache for the party leadership. Those who have been rejected by the people are now vying for LS seats.
For instance, Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Jaipal Reddy, DK Aruna, Uttam Kumar Reddy's wife Padmavathi, senior Dalit face Mallu Ravi, BC face Ponnala Lakshmaiah and several others are pressurising the high command to allot MP seats to them. There are fears that if people like Jana Reddy are not given tickets, they might as well resign from the party and join the TRS. Jana Reddy wants to launch the political career of his son and the TRS might help him. Some leaders like Sabitha Indra Reddy, Suresh Shekar want their sons to be given tickets, while Sangareddy MLA Jaggareddy wants a ticket for his wife. These leaders have already started lobbying for tickets.
The Congress High Command, which wants some fresh faces to revive itself in Telangana, is looking helplessly. The cadre at the ground level too appear tired of the seniors. But, the seniors themselves seem to believe that they still have a chance
