Telangana Crackers Association Moves Supreme Court To Challenge HC Order On Crackers Ban

Update: 2020-11-13 09:50 GMT
Going by the orders issued by the High Court the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao issued Government Order(G.O) over cracker ban including the sale and purchase of crackers.

As the sudden twist will leave a heavy toll on the retail sellers of crackers across the state, the Telangana Crackers Association knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court to seek a stay on HC Orders over the cracker ban.

In the lunch motion petition, the crackers association maintained that imposing a ban on the crackers days before the Diwali festival will push them into severe losses and sought a stay on this.

However, some media reports claim that crackers sale is on a full spree on the outskirts of the pearl city, but the cops are concentrating on the crackers stall only in the city.

The Telangana High Court imposed a ban on crackers in the state on November 12 hearing a plea filed by P Indira Prakash, who works as an advocate in the High Court.

While imposing a ban, the High Court directed the state government to publicize the ban on crackers and submit a report on the steps the government has taken in this regard.
