TRS Government planned delimitation of districts across the state. Initially, It proposed 17 New Districts to take the total count to 21. Upon seeking public opinion, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to include four more new districts.
Except Hyderabad, New Districts were carved out of all the 9 New Districts. While Warangal leads with 5 Districts, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar and Adilabad is being partitioned into 4 Districts each.
Whereas, Medak, Rangareddy and Nalgonda get 3 Districts each. Nizamabad and Khammam settle for 2 Districts each.
List of New Districts to be carved out of existing Districts in Telangana:
Warangal: 1) Warangal Urban, 2) Warangal Rural, 3) Bhupalapally, 4) Mahabubabad, 5) Janagam
Karimnagar: 1) Karimnagar, 2) Jagithyala, 3) Peddapalli, 4) Siricilla
Mahabubnagar: 1) Mahabubnagar, 2) Nagar Kurnool, 3) Vanaparthy, 4) Gadwal
Adilabad: 1) Adilabad, 2) Manchiryala, 3) Nirmal, 4) Asifabad
Medak: 1) Medak, 2) Siddipet, 3) Sangareddy
Ranga Reddy: 1) Ranga Reddy, 2) Vikarabad, 3) Malkajgiri
Nalgonda: 1) Nalgonda, 2) Yadadri, 3) Suryapet
Nizamabad: 1) Nizamabad, 2) Kamareddy
Khammam: 1) Khammam, 2) Kothagudem
