Telangana Government on Wednesday formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the Data Theft Case involved by IT Grid Complaint. West Zone IG Stephen Ravindra will be the in-charge of the SIT. The Investigation Team comprises of Cyber Crime DCP Rohini, Kamareddy SP Swetha Reddy, DCP Ravi Kumar, ACP Srinivas and Two Police Inspectors.
State Government took this crucial step as the complaints against Data Theft kept increasing day-by-day. Cases registered in SR Nagar & Madhapur Police Stations, Complaints filed in the districts will be investigated jointly. Investigation is being carried out from the conspiracy angle in the misuse of public data.
IT Grid collected information of the Voters through the Phone Call/Household Survey having 17 Questions. Attempts were made to remove the valid votes of Sympathisers of Opposition Parties with false applications.
A Special Chamber will be established for the SIT in the Telangana DGP Office. Details of the investigation carried out by City Police so far will be transferred to the SIT.
