Telangana Health Director suspects further Omicron spread!

As if it is not enough, the Telangana director of public health and family welfare Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao expressed his doubt of the further emergence of the Omicron infections in the state.

Addressing the media, the health expert said that the major share of the infections in the state might be of the Omicron variant. If I am not wrong, the percentage could be close to 70 percent, he said.

Citing the New Year celebrations, the health expert said that due to this the state saw a massive jump in the daily cases. Since the past few days, we have been seeing a steady rise in the single-day cases, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao.

On this occasion, the health director also said that there is a chance for the infections to increase after the Sankranti season. Having said that, he had urged the people to be cautious and follow the protocols.

The health director of the state appealed to the public that if they feel any symptoms of the virus, then they should not take any chances and go for the Covid tests right away.

As part of the preparedness to tackle the possible situations, the health department had swung into action and the leaves granted for the doctors and Asha workers have been canceled so that their services can be used if required.
