As many as thirteen farmers across five districts of Telangana committed suicide on Sunday.
In Warangal district alone, Four Farmers have died Yesterday. While most of them were suicide cases, There were even incidents of farmers suffering heart attack due to crop failure and hefty loans. The death toll only reflects the situation of farmers in the state.
While responding on the suicides, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao asked farmers not to give up hope as Telangana Government is ready to help them. He informed all the suicide cases will be probed thoroughly before granting ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased farmers.
Telangana Government has hiked the ex-gratia for families of farmers who ended lives from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh.
