Telangana records liquor sale worth Rs 685 Cr for Dasara!

During the festive season, we get to see public gatherings and massive celebrations on the road. One more thing that we get to see during the season is the liquor sales reaching an all-time high. Telangana state saw sales worth over Rs 600 crores during the Dussehra season.

Breaking all the previous years, Telangana recorded liquor sales of more than Rs 685 crore that too in just five days. Between October 12 to 16, the sales were recorded reportedly bringing massive revenues for the state government.

The liquor sales for the 2021 Dasara season were 39 percent higher than the 2020 season.On the other hand, beer sales went up by 57 percent. Notably, the sales of beers started to see growth since September. Going by the same trend, the sales were high this month too.

Breaking down the sales, as many as 7.90 Lakh cases of liquor were sold between 12 to 16th of this month while 8.34 Lakh beer cartons were sold in Telangana in the festive season during the same period. Rangareddy district topped the list in terms of sales followed by capital city Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Khammam.

When the liquor stalls were reopened across the state as part of the unlocking, liquor lovers went crazy resulting in the state seeing never before never after sales. During October last year, more than 2600 crore worth of liquor was sold and the number is expected to go further up this year.
