Telangana Reports 2154 Fresh Corona Infections

In a shocking development, Telangana witnessed a surge in fresh Coronavirus infections, a day after the state's caseload surpassed the 2-lakh-mark. On Tuesday, 1335 cases were detected.

The information provided by the media bulletin stated that in the past 24 hours 54,277 samples were tested by the health officials and 2,154 fresh infections were detected. So far, a total of 2,04,748 patients have been diagnosed with the virus.

In a piece of good news, as many as 2,239 patients were declared cured and discharged from the hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll of recoveries to a whopping 1,77,008. The state's recovery rate rose further to 86.45 percent.

Total fatalities in connection with the ongoing pandemic in the state rose to 1189, including eight people breathing their last battling the virus in the last 24 hours. Telangana has a mortality rate of 0.58 percent.

GHMC continues to be the worst-affected region. The region reported the highest number of cases out of the newly reported infections with 303 cases, followed by  Ranga Reddy(205) and Medchal−Malkajgiri ( 187).
