Telangana Sees An All-Time High In Liquor Sales In November!

Telangana has registered a record liquor sale in November month. More than 2,000 crores worth of liquor was sold out in the state, which is the highest ever liquor sales in the state so far.

Reports claimed that in November as much as Rs 2,567 crore worth of liquor was sold last month. The sales went up by more than 700 crores compared to the average monthly liquor sales.

Telangana, one of the states with the highest liquor consumption in the country registers liquor sales of nearly Rs 1,700 every month. During Dusshera season liquor worth Rs 2,000 crore was sold in the state.

The dry days announced by the Telangana State Election Commission before the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) elections played a crucial role in the state registering an all-time high in liquor sales.

Before the Local body elections, the SEC announced that liquor sales should be suspended from November 29 to December 1.

According to the reports, liquor worth Rs 860 was shifted from liquor deports during 26, 27, and 28 November ahead of the dry days. The amount translates to one-third of the total sales in November.
