Telangana will not compromise on Krishna River Water sharing: KTR

Telangana IT Minister KTR, who also holds Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce portfolios, has toured Narayanpet district in the state and addressed a meeting on Saturday.

While addressing the meeting, KTR spoke about the Krishna river water sharing disputes with neighboring state Andhra Pradesh and said, Telangana will not compromise on drawing waters that belong to the state.

"We will not compromise on the water sharing row. We will get our share of water that belongs to Telangana as per the law. We will fight for the water and the interests of the state," KTR said at the public meeting.

He targeted the BJP in his speech and asked, why the welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, Rythu Bima, Rythu Bandhu which are being implemented in Telangana are not implemented in neighboring Karnataka ruled by the BJP.

Talking about the development in the Palamoor area, TRS Working Minister KTR said earlier Palamoor used to get drinking water once in every 14 days. But now, drinking water is supplied once every two days. The government is also purchasing crops from the farmers, KTR said.

The Minister assured that the Food Processing Industry will be set up in Narayanpet. The TRS government has changed the 3,400 tandas into Village Panchayats. 2,100 electric poles and 19 transformers were set up in Narayan pet alone, he maintained.

During his visit, KTR launched the ICU ward at the children's hospital in the district. He also unveiled Children's, Science Park. Later, he laid the foundation for an integrated market, Martyrs Memorial Park.
