The reality show Bigg Boss is a popular show that records good views and TRPs. Irrespective of the language, the reality show has a dedicated fan base who won't miss an opportunity to watch it. Starting with Hindi, the show made it to regional languages as well.
Bigg Boss is a superhit concept in Telugu and the show reached the sixth season, which is having an OTT release. Not just popularity, the show is also attracting criticism from a few corners. The likes of CPI Narayana made some harsh comments towards the show and called it the heaven of vulgarity and a brothel house.
Now the Telugu Bigg Boss show attracted another big setback as a petition seeking directives to stop the show was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Advocate Shivaprasad Reddy filed the sensational plea and said that the vulgarity in the show is making it unable to watch it with the family.
During the hearing, the High Court reportedly quoted the example of films in the 1970s,where the films were made to watch with family members.
The 70s and 80s are the golden era for films across languages. Many iconic and classic films were produced at that time. Since the late 80s and 90s, the industries started going through a transformation. Drawing big inspiration from Hollywood films, the content we see in films started adding glamour.
With time passing, the films started adding glamour dose in big volumes and the trend has reached the Television world too. Talking about the Bigg Boss show, we can see the inmates getting close to others and hugging on camera. The family audience already stopped watching it.
In what could be a problematic development for the Bigg Boss show and its makers, the petition seeking directives to stop it from airing was filed in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. The lawyer representing the union government was also present in the court for the hearing.
However, the lawyer said that he needs some time to respond to this. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh postponed the next hearing to the 11th of next month. The Court also said that it will take a call on sending notices to the defendants in the next hearing.
