Srikakulam TDP Is Thoroughly Demoralised

Update: 2020-08-23 10:20 GMT
There is complete demoralization of the Telugu Desam cadre in Srikakulam district ever since former minister and TDP senior leader Atchen Naidu was arrested. It has been more than two-and-a-half months since Atchen Naidu was arrested in connection with the ESI scam and Atchen Naidu is yet to secure a bail.

Atchen Naidu's presence was very imposing and it used to instill confidence in the party cadre. He used to be in the forefront in protecting the interests of the cadre. Such a leader has been languishing in the prison since June 12 and the mighty TDP could do literally nothing to get him out. This has left the party workers thoroughly demoralized. The loss of spirit is very visible in Tekkali, the constituency that Atchen Naidu represents. The situation in Nimmada, the home turf of the leader is even worse.

Post the arrest, a significant number of TDP workers in the district have gone mute. There is no political activity in the TDP in recent times. The capital issue has further hit them hard. They are confused as to whether to support or oppose the move to make Vizag the administrative capital of Andhra Pradesh.
