As per Census 2011 report which was released recently, About 3.4 crore out 8.4 crore total population in United Andhra Pradesh are illiterates. While, At least 40 percent of the people have neither gone to school ever nor posses the ability to read/write.
In Hyderabad which is a common capital, Atleast 10 lakh out of 39 lakh total population are illiterates.
Around 17 lakhs out of 55 lakhs graduates in United AP are qualified in the fields of Engineering and Technology. Only about 10% of the total graduates have been from teaching, agriculture and medicine.
Today happens to be World Literacy Day. CM Chandrababu Naidu is firm on his commitment to attain 100 percent literacy in AP. "On this World Literacy Day, I vow to take AP's literacy rate to 100% in order to create a sustainable & knowledgeable society," he declares.
