The situation in Kurnool of Andhra Pradesh is getting worse as 52 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours.
With this, the toll of the positive cases has reached 56 in the district alone ringing the danger bells. Out of these cases, 55 positive cases connected to the Maskaz Masjid in Delhi.
District collector Veera Pandian confirmed the same and said that all the people who were tested positive for the deadly virus have been sent to the Santhiram Hospital in Nandyala for treatment.
Till now, 14 people who were tested negative for the virus were also asked to be in-home quarantine to see that the virus is not spread further. To accommodate them, hotels and private buildings were also been acquired by the officers.
Following this, people who were returned from Delhi were been sent to quarantine. The officials have managed to trace out 35 people have taken part in the religious congregation in Delhi.
As an addition to that, 14 fresh cases were reported in AP with Vishakapatnam witnessing five cases while Anantapur and Kurnool reported 3 cases each. Guntur and East Godavari witnessed 2 and 1 cases respectively.
