Despite Covid-19 fears, devotees in large numbers rushed to Tadvai block in Telangana for the annual Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. The four-day Jatara began earlier this week.

Now it is said that Endowment employees who participated in the Medaram Jatara tested positive for the Coronavirus virus. Three employees were found positive for the respiratory disease.

According to the media reports, after three employees found Covid-19 positive, the authorities swung into action and reportedly sent samples of the other employees for tests, and the reports are awaited.

This development resulted in a tense situation at the annual Jatara after Corona infections were detected. The authorities have increased the arrangements at the Hindu Tribal goddesses' festival.

The annual tribal fair attracts devotees from neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
