The opposition TDP is not leaving any stone unturned to capture the upcoming Tirupati by-election. Days after Nara Lokesh campaigned for the party, TDP chief, former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu held an election rally on April 12.

Tension gripped the Krishnapuram area when stones were reportedly pelted at the election rally when Chandrababu Naidu was addressing the rally.

Chandrababu Naidu alleged that stones were pelted at him. He even claimed that two other party activists were also injured at the rally after some miscreants pelted stones on Monday.

Alleging a political conspiracy behind the attack, Chandrababu Naidu sat on the road in the area. He urged the Election Commission to respond to the incident and take action against the people responsible for this.

The Election Commission should look into the incident and take the required action. If a person with a Z-plus protectee can't be protected. What will be the situation of the common people in the state, Chandrababu Naidu said.

The Police officials tried to bring the situation under control by trying to placate him. After the Additional Superintendent of Police assured him that those who are responsible for this will be arrested, Chandrababu Naidu left the spot.

While the TDP blamed the ruling YSRCP for the stone-pelting incident, the ruling party rubbished the allegations and said the TDP is playing the drama to gain public sympathy ahead of Tirupati polls.
