Terrorists targeted Indian Air Force base in Pathankot district in Punjab in the early hours on Saturday. This lead to a fierce gun battle between 50 commandos of the National Security Guard (NSG) and terrorists till 8 am. While four terrorists were gunned down, Even two IAF personnel breathed their last in the attack.
Sources say, Terrorists wore Army-style Clothing and they represent terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Air Force Station was attacked at 3 am. The attack took place with 24 hours after an alarm was raised over a possible terror threat. The commandos have done combing after killing the four terrorists to check if there are few more militants in the area. A high alert was issued and the area looked just alike a war zone ever since the operation began. Central Forces and Punjab Police worked with good coordination to end the gun battle in quick time.
