Yet another incident of bank robbery was reported in Jammu & Kashmir post the launch of demonetisation. On Thursday, Terrorists had looted Rs 11 lakh from Jammu and Kashmir Bank's Ratnipora Branch.
A similar incident happened on December 8th this year. Few unidentified people looted Rs 13.38 lakh from Jammu and Kashmir Bank's Pulwama Branch.
Terrorists replied on fake currency for their operations until demonetisation was launched. The counterfeit currency available with them has gone waste after note ban. Hence, Banks have become the soft targets of Militants in Jammu & Kashmir. Several cases of bank robberies were reported in the recent past. Centre need to provide full proof security for banks in sensitive areas near the border else the purpose of note ban willn't be met.
