Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan who addressed his weekly social media interaction, Sunday Samvaad expressed his dissatisfaction over the public neglecting the Covid-19 protocols.

During the fifth edition of "Sunday Samvaad", he appealed to the public to stay at home and celebrate festivals instead of stepping out and participating in public gatherings.

Quoting Bhagavad Gita, the Minister said, Lord Krishna, says to concentrate on your goal, and presently out goal is to end this pandemic and save humanity. This is the region of the world.  

Stressing about gathering, Harsh Vardhan said: No religion or God tells you should celebrate ostentatiously and visit the religious places to pray.

Citing the example of the United Kingdom witnessed a rise in Covid-19 infections during the winter season, the Minister urged people to be more cautious, as the virus can get transmitted rapidly in cold weather.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan's comments came weeks ahead of the festival season in the country. Popular Hindu festivals Diwali and Dusshera will fall in the coming next months.
