The much-awaited massive Coronavirus vaccine drive will be started today at 10: 30 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the vaccine drive via video conferencing.
As announced earlier, Healthcare workers and frontline workers across the country will be vaccinated first, followed by people, above the age group of 60 and people under the age group of 60.
3006 vaccination centers were set up across the nation in the States and Union Territories for the vaccination drive. The required arrangements have been made by the concerned authorities.
Andhra Pradesh has selected 332 vaccination centers across the state. More than 3 lakh Health workers will be administered the vaccine. East Godavari, the worst-affected region was allotted 33 vaccination centers, while 15 centers were set up in the Vizianagaram district.
Vaccination drive will be conducted across 1213 centers in other Telugu state Telangana. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan will start the vaccine drive from NIMS, while IT Minister KTR will start the drive from Tilaknagar.
The vaccine will be administered to people only above 18 years of age in two doses. The vaccines are not interchangeable. Both the vaccine doses have to be administered from the same manufacturer.
The beneficiaries should register themselves on the specially developed CoWIN app to take the vaccine dose. After registering themselves, the beneficiaries will be given a timeslot for the vaccine doses.
Along with the registration number, the beneficiaries should produce any ID proof at the vaccination center. Like the voting process, the ink will be applied on the left hand of the beneficiaries.
After taking the vaccine dose, the beneficiaries should have to take rest for not less than 30 minutes under the supervision of the doctors. If any reaction takes place, they will be treated immediately.
