Update: 2021-08-18 14:17 GMT
At the time when the debate over mixing of two different vaccine doses for better immune system is going on, the Centre said, the third dose of vaccine cannot be administered as it goes against the guidelines.

The Centre gave its opinion on the third dose while filing an affidavit with the Kerala High Court. The government filed the same when the High Court asked it's response in the third vaccine.

The High Court sought Centre's response in this regard after a petitioner had approached the Court seeking a third dose of Covid vaccine.

The petitioner who wants to travel Saudi Arabia for work purposes wanted to take a vaccine jab that is acceptable internationally.

The person who was already administered two doses of COVAXIN vaccine told the court that the vaccine is not accepted in other countries.

He said, Saudi Arabia accepts Covishield Jab and he wants to take the vaccine dose. But the Centre said, the third dose cannot be administered.
