This Is A Serious Matter: HC On Jagan Attack Case

Update: 2018-12-04 07:51 GMT
High Court questioned TDP Government why it didn't share the details of murder attempt against YCP Chief Jaganmohan Reddy in Visakha airport to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Court maintained that this is a very serious issue and the State Government has to offer its explanation. HC sought the details of measures taken by the Government as the laws after the shocking incident. Next hearing will be on December 5th.

YS Jagan moved Hyderabad High Court alleging AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and DGP of drawing a conclusion even before conducting investigation in the murder attempt case. He sought orders for an Independent Agency to take up the case.

Jagan's Counsel CV Mohan Reddy: 'As per Section 3, 3A of the Civil Aviation Act 1982, Centre have the powers to take action when any Individual was killed or injured in the airport or if any person poses a threat to the safety of passengers or if anybody damages the aircraft. As per Section 5A, A Central Agency can investigate such cases. Centre will take a decision whether to order for NIA Probe or involve any other agency upon receiving the case report from the State Government. So far, AP Government hasn't made any such move. It's been done intentionally to prevent Centre from ordering for probe by an independent agency. Once if Centre gets involved, State Police will have no role to play. Investigation Officials aren't following the norms'.

YCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy's Counsel Sudhakar sought modification of the FIR filed in connection with the murder attempt on Jagan.

High Court asked Centre to clarify what action can be taken as per NIA Laws upon receiving the case report from AP Government.
