Here's an innovative and typically Indian jugaad to ensure that Corona is not transmitted through currency notes. There are widespread fears that since many people handle currency notes and some even apply saliva while counting the notes, there is a possibility of Corona transmission.

One enterprising groceries shop owner came up with an innovative solution to this problem. He is placing the currency notes in a pressure cooker and is autoclaving them. High pressure water vapour will kill all bacteria and viruses, including Covid 19. So, K Narasimha Rao, who runs Vijayalakshmi General Stories in Kaikalur of Krishna district, has been subjecting he currency to high pressure and high temperature vapour in a pressure cooker.  Initially, he had put the notes directly in the pressure cooker, but found that the notes were burnt out when opened. So, he is now placing some water and is keeping the notes on a plate with holes. This is autoclaving the notes and thus ensuring that there is no virus on the surface of the currency notes.

Earlier too, we had seen a bank employee ironing the currency notes with an electric iron to ensure that there is no corona virus on the notes. The autoclaving with the help of a pressure cooker to is going to be very helpful.
