Update: 2020-04-07 12:06 GMT
Following the deadly outbreak of the deadly COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown so that the virus is not spread further. As a result, everything is shut down including the liquor shops leaving the alcohol lovers in a state of depression.

This has left the alcohol drinkers doing crazy and bizarre incidents starting with hurting themselves and committing suicide with the lack of liquor. Karnataka and Kerala states are witnessing such crazy incidents more compared to other states.

To beat this, the Karnataka excise department has come up with a decision to counter this. If the lockdown continues even after April 14th, liquor shops will be opened for three hours per day.

Liquor will be sold in the state, liquor will be available from morning 10 am to afternoon 1 for three hours as in some places people are even stealing liquor bottles from the shops by breaking the door.
