To Date, the US has sent medical assistance worth over $500 million to India!
When India is going through testing times triggered by the Covid virus, various countries in the world are coming forward to lend a helping hand to the country. The help includes medical supplies, testing devices, kits, vaccines, and others.
The 'Big Brother' United States is also on the list of nations that are helping India. Talking about the help offered to India, the severely hit, the White House said, help worth over $500 million was sent from the US so far.
Addressing a press conference that was held virtually, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, said as of now, the United States has sent assistance to India that is worth over $500. US federal and state governments, American companies and organizations, and private citizens have contributed to help India, she said.
The assistance received by India includes health supplies, oxygen, oxygen supplies, and 95 masks, rapid diagnostic tests, and medicine, millions of Covid vaccine doses.
'We have sent seven air shipments, including health supplies, oxygen, oxygen supplies, and 95 masks, rapid diagnostic tests and medicine. In terms of the 80 million doses (of COVID-19 vaccines), we know there's a great deal of interest in this understandably 60 million of AstraZeneca and 20 million of three other approved vaccines. Right now, it is working through an interagency process,' Psaki added.
Earlier on May 5, an oxygen generating plant, over 2.8 lakh rapid testing kits, and other medical supplies arrived in India from the United States.
