Total Covid cases in Andhra Pradesh zooms to 18,64,122

The impact of the current second wave of the dreaded Coronavirus on Andhra Pradesh has been getting diluted over the past few weeks. As a result, the fresh infections are coming down gradually.

The single-day cases once again saw a decline after 4,981 people were declared positive for the virus in the past 24 hours. The fresh cases were detected after testing 88,622 samples across the state.

After 38 people lost their lives to the virus in the span of 24 hours, total casualties zoomed to 12,490. Chittoor tops the list of fresh casualties with 10, while East Godavari and Krishna districts reported five casualties each.

Four casualties each in Guntur and Nellore, three each casualty were reported in Srikakulam and West Godavari. While one casualty was reported from Anantapur, Kadapa, Vizag, and Vizianagaram.

On the other hand, 6,464 patients were declared cured of the virus on June 24, taking forward the total recovery rate to 18,01,949. The active cases in Andhra Pradesh stood at 49,683.
