The skyrocketing prices of fuel, Goods, and Cylinder Gas have hit the middle-class people in the country. Various sections in the country have been protesting against the high prices.

The Confederation of All India Traders said that Bharat Bandh will be conducted on Friday against the rising prices. The move received support from the All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA).

As a result of Bharat Bandh, the commercial markets across India will be shut with more than 40k traders' associations expressing their willingness to take part in the bandh.

As part of the Bharat Bandh, the protestors have called for Dharnas at various places across the country. The main demand of the protestors is to review the GST system and simplify the tax slabs.

The Transporters have also extended their support to the bandh with a demand of scrapping the E-way bill laws along with protesting against the high fuel prices.

The new changes in the GST laws have resulted in a rise in the penalties for transporters who carry a consignment with an E-way bill that is expired. The transporters have to pay 200 percent of tax value or 100 percent of the invoice value under the new GST laws.
