Cop who stopped President Convoy gets Reward

Sub-Inspector ML Nijalingappa who was on duty as Traffic Cop at the Trinity Circle in Bengaluru on Saturday hogged the limelight after he made way for ambulance even when the convoy of President of India was about to pass through the same junction.

Apparently, Pranab Mukherjee was in Bengaluru last week to inaugurate Green Line of the Metro Rail Project. When President's convoy was heading towards Raj Bhavan, Nijalingappa noticed an ambulance struck in the traffic while it was on its way to a private hospital. Immediately, He took measures to clear way for the ambulance.

This incident garnered a lot of media attention. Twitter and Facebook pages of Bengaluru Traffic Police were flooded with messages appreciating the Traffic Cop. ML Nijalingappa was praised by his superiors for his presence of mind while doing the duty. Even Bengaluru Police announced a reward for this Sub-Inspector.
