Air travel will now bring cheers to Indian flyer's as national carrier Air India on Friday joined in Star Alliance, Star alliance is the worlds largest network of airlines with 27 members providing not just seamless travel but other benefits as well including access to lounge at all airports and frequent flyer benefits. Star Alliance network which included Air India will now be offering more than 18,500 daily flights serving in 192 countries.
Air India chief Rohit Nandan was happily announced this information during a press conference. He specially quoted that the flyer's will get various travel opportunities with different partners in star where we commit to follow the international food standards which gives us pleasure to serve variety of food to AI passengers. The cost of the traveling will at-least reduce by 10-15 percent due to this partnership.
A joint statement issued by Air India and Star alliance said the national carrier will now offer through check-in to the final destination for connecting flights operated by any Star Alliance member airline for both passengers and baggage, hence providing seamless travel.
Things like collecting baggage for connecting flights etc, will be provided seamlessly to the flyer's as per local regulations which will reduce travel burden on the AI flyer's. The passengers need to collect the baggage at last destination only.
As a result of the addition of Air India, the Alliances market share in India has risen to 30 per cent.
