A new controversy is taking shape in the Telangana Congress Party. The party's accounts have not been updated for years and there are no details of the way the party funds were spent. The accounts of the party have not been submitted since 2018 assembly elections.
The issue came to light what with the sudden resignation of party's state unit treasurer Guduru Narayana Reddy. Narayana Reddy has recently joined the BJP in the presence of BJP national president JP Nadda. Incumbent PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy's detractors claim that no accounts have been shown ever since he became the PCC chief. They say that there are no accounts for the Rs 20 crore that the party reportedly took from another political party as part of the electoral alliance in 2018.
Some sources say that Narayana Reddy had resigned the party due to this reason. However, some other say that party state affairs incharge Manickam Tagore is very particular that the accounts are submitted immediately. This has now become a hot topic in the Congress circles these days.
