Dubbak Effect: TRS Dissidents Looking Towards BJP

Update: 2020-11-07 04:52 GMT
Is Dubbak bypoll showing its effect even before the results are announced? It appears so. With the reports emerging that the BJP has given a tough fight to the ruling TRS and is on way to become a viable and strong alternative to the ruling party, several TRS dissidents are beginning to look towards the saffron party. The BJP has always been hoping that a good performance in Dubbak would help the party in improving its prospects in the GHMC elections.

Mylardevpally corporator Tokala Srinivasa Reddy has announced that he would formally join the BJP on November 9.  He would join in the presence of state president Bandi Sanjay at the state party office.  Reddy has been at odds with local MLA Prakash Goud. He has been caught in the crosshairs with Prakash Goud. He said Goud tried to get him suspended from the party. He also complained that the MLA and his followers have resorted to physical attacks on him. He said he was unhappy that the party leadership did not even bother to hear his view point.

He is the second TRS corporator to leave the party and align with the BJP in recent time. Medchal urban BJP president Harish Reddy's wife has already aligned with the BJP. She had won on TRS ticket. Reports indicate that a significant number of corporators are planning to leave the TRS and join the BJP.
