The TRS has already begun to unveil its strategy for the upcoming GHMC elections. Realising that it has a tough task ahead especially in view of the recent devastation caused by unprecedented floods and the utter failure of the GHMC administration is helping the affected people, the TRS has decided to adopt a new strategy to win the elections.
The party is now targeting the young leaders in the GHMC and has directed them to undertake a massive membership drive in the GHMC area. The TRS leadership has found that several young leaders have been keeping away from the party activities of late. So, in order to reactivate them, KTR had held a meeting of these local youth leaders and gave them a pep talk. The young leaders were tasked with bringing young leaders from other parties, including the BJP, which has significant youth presence. Also, senior leaders were told to encourage young party workers to take the lead in the GHMC elections.
The biggest worry for the TRS is that it had does not have even a single MP in the GHMC area. The Hyderabad is with the MIM, while the BJP and the Congress have Secunderabad and Malkajgiri respectively. The party feels that many young leaders were not active during the Lok Sabha elections.
