Ts Govt Makes Facemask Wearing Compulsory, Who Floats The Restrictions To Be Jailed

The new Coronavirus infections continue to surge in Telangana. Earlier, the state government announced the closure of schools and colleges in the light of a rise in fresh pandemic infections.

In the view of the Holi festival, the Telangana government has imposed restrictions on liquor sales and issued directives to make facemask wearing compulsory outdoors, like workplaces and public places.

Citing that people gathering in large numbers might result in spreading the virus further, the government announced that public gatherings are not permitted for the festivals. Till 30 April, no religious and political rallies will be held in the state.

The Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao-led Telangana government announced that wearing facemask is mandatory in public places and workplaces as well. Anyone who floats the restrictions will be slapped with a fine.

Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued directives to the Collectors, Commissioners, and other concerned officers to see that everyone wears a face mask without a fail.

According to the Government Order(GO) no 69, no public celebrations and gatherings will not be permitted for the festivals like Shab-e-Barat, Holi, Ugadi, Rama Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Ramzan, and others.

"The number of Covid-19 cases in the country has been showing a rising trend since the last few weeks. The Ministry of Home Affairs also issued an order, laying down guidelines for the effective control of the disease, providing for States to impose local restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, based on the assessment of the situation," the orders read.
