The much talked about 2017 Drug racket case, which created a sensation in Telangana once again made it to the headlines after Congress leader and Malkajgiri Member of parliament Revanth Reddy filed a petition in Telangana High Court.

The High Court, which heard the petition directed the Telangana state government to hand over the report filed by Special Investigation Team(SIT) in the alleged drug racket.

In the petition, the MP sought directives from the court to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) and the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) for a better investigation process.

The Counsel who appeared on the behalf of petitioner told that court that the purview of Excise SIT will not be enough to deal with the case and ED and Special Crime Branch (SCB) are ready to probe into the case.

The alleged drug racket case created a sensation in the state. Revanth Reddy, who was with TDP then said the SIT investigation process is delayed and batted for the handover of the case to CBI.

Back in 2017, Revanth Reddy, who was then Telangana TDP Working President made allegations that KCR's family members are involved in the drugs racket and pointed out the increase of pubs in the state after KCR made it to CM post as a reason for this.
