TS High Court Issues Orders To Conduct Re-Postmortem For Maoists In Charla Incident

The Telangana High Court, which heard the Charla Encounter case issued directives to freeze the dead bodies of the deceased and conduct re-postmortem with MGM Forensic experts.

In the directives, the High Court asked to record the postmortem process and submit the comprehensive report in a sealed cover. The case was adjourned to October 5th for the next hearing.

The case reached the court with the Civil Rights Association filing a lunch petition to seek a comprehensive investigation on the Charla encounter incident.

In the lunch petition, the petitioner requested the Court to issue directives to freeze the dead bodies and conduct a re-postmortem with the forensic experts.

Responding to the petitioners' arguments, the Telangana Advocate General said that the dead bodies of the slain Maoists have already been handed over to the respective family members.

After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the High Court issued directives to the state government to retrieve the bodies of the Maoists and conduct a re-postmortem at the Bhadrachala Area government hospital.

Looking into the encounter incident, the exchange of the fire between the cops and Maoists took place on the morning of Wednesday near the Chennapuram forest area which falls under the Charla police station limits.

Talking about the encounter, the cops said that the encounter took place during the regular combing operations. The three deceased Maoists include two women.
