The Anti-Corruption Council of India Trust has knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court by filing a public interest petition. The three-judge bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice of India Bobde, which also comprises of Justices of Bopanna and Justice Ramasubramanian heard the petition today.

During the hearing, the advocate who represented the petitioner told the Court that, the PIL they filed has significance, as it pertains to the safety of the lawyers.

However, the Supreme Court refused to take up the petition, citing that, the issue is still pending with the Telangana High Court. The bench directed the petitioner to go to the Telangana High Court.

The Anti-Corruption Council of India Trust moved the Supreme Court seeking directives to give the case to a private investigation agency. With the Supreme Court’s orders, the trust had withdrawn its petition in the Supreme Court.
