RK Nagar By-Poll Result: What it means?

Update: 2017-12-25 04:14 GMT
Expelled AIADMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran won the crucial RK Nagar by-election by a thumping margin of 40,707 votes. This is more than the margin former CM Jayalalithaa (39,495 votes) managed to get when she contested 2016 Assembly Polls from this constituency.

Out of total 1,76,890 votes, TTV Dhinakaran secured 89,013 votes on the pressure cooker symbol. AIADMK's Madhusudhanan managed just 48,306 votes. DMK's Marudhu Ganesh received 24,651 votes. BJP could obtain only 1,417 votes.

Post the victory, TTV Dhinakaran claimed he have the blessings of Amma and support of her followers. He predicted a lot gonna change in Tamil Nadu in the next three months.

Whereas, AIADMK alleged the understanding between DMK and TTV Dhinakaran lead to the defeat of it's candidate E Madhusudhanan.

DMK, on the other hand, described the defeat of its candidate as the defeat of Election Commission.

Victory of TTV Dhinakaran could lead to fresh chaos within AIADMK now. Palanisamy & Panneerselvam Camps will be under immense pressure after Dhinakaran's record win.
