AIADMK ousted VK Sasikala Natarajan and TTV Dinakaran from the party on Tuesday. The decision was made official by Finance Minister D Jayakumar. He told the decision to keep Sasikala's Family away from the party was unanimous.
TTV Dinakaran called for a meeting of MLAs and District Secretaries at the party headquarters in Royapettah at 3 PM on Wednesday. Only 6 MLAs (P Vetrivel, STK Jakkaiyan, Thangatamilselvan, K Kathirkamu, S Selvamohandos Pandian and SG Subramanian) have remained in Sasikala's Camp by now. Whereas, Palanisamy's Camp claims having the support of 113 to 115 MLAs.
Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has given an ultimatum to Palanisamy's Government. He made it clear merger of his camp with AIADMK isn't going to happen unless Sasikala's Family was ousted from the party. As a result, CM Palanisamy decided to suspend Sasikala and Dinakaran from the party with immediate effect. The merger talks will resume now as the first major demand has been fulfilled.
