Heavy flow of vehicles which carried pilgrims from different parts of the state towards Bhadrachalam where Godavari Pushkaralu were hosted has only resulted in massive traffic jam. Hundreds of vehicles got stranded between the 12 km stretch of Kothagudem-Palvancha for hours Yesterday.
On Saturday alone, Around 4 lakh pilgrims took the hold dip in Bhadrachalam. Telangana Government even started using a helicopter to address the traffic issues in the temple town. Ministers and DGP were reviewing the situation on hourly basis.
The situation is such that Telangana Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao appealed VIPs not to visit Bhadrachalam on Sunday and Monday upon monitoring the traffic and safety measures. He then asked Pilgrims to use the free bus service arranged by State Government instead of going by walk, especially on Badradri bridge. He also asked the people to use Burgampahad, Mothe, Chinnarayigudem Ghats whenever they witness over-crowding.
