Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao who recently won as MLA from Palair constituency has resigned for his MLC post today. Tummala met Council Chairman Swamy Goud and handed over his resignation letter. The resignation was accepted by Swamy Goud.
Tummala Nageswara Rao, a senior leader of the TDP and former minister quit TDP to join the TRS in September 2014. Two months later he was elected as MLC on TRS ticket. He along with four other leaders Elected to council under MLAs' quota last year. He was inducted into the Telanagana state cabinet.
Tummala contested as TRS candidate for by-elections held on May 16 and won with thumping majority of 45,000 votes. By-election necessitated with the sudden death of Ramreddy Venkat Reddy, Congress MLA from Palair. As per reports Tummala will take oath as Member of Telangana Assembly on May 26.
