Twitter Takes Down Fake Account Of Cji Nv Ramana, After He Lodges A Complaint!

Days after Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana had sworn in as the 48th Chief Justice of India(CJI), a fake account on his name, appeared on the microblogging site Twitter. False information was being spread on the Twitter account.

Following this, CJI NV Ramana has lodged a police complaint. As a response to the complaint raised by the Supreme Court's Registry, Twitter India has suspended the fake account.

As per the media reports, the fake Twitter handle was opened under the name @NVRamanna. In the profile, it was mentioned as the CJI as the designation.98 tweets were made through the account, which has more than 5,000 followers.

The last tweet from the make Twitter account of NV Ramana was about the decision of the United States to supply raw materials to India."Due to Ajit Doval's diplomacy, the US decided to supply raw materials to India #vaccination @PMOIndia" the tweet read.

The tweet has been deleted and the Twitter handle was also been taken down by Twitter India. The CJI does not have accounts on any social media platforms, including Twitter.

Justice NV Ramana was sworn in as the CJI on last Saturday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Honorable President of India Ram Nath Kovind administered his oath. Vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and others have attended the ceremony.
