Two Women Give Tough Time To Modi

Update: 2021-02-19 03:18 GMT
Two women are fast turning out to be huge headaches for the BJP. Both the women are former chief ministers, who are known to be very powerful. Interestingly, both have a Madhya Pradesh connection. Both the women want to become Chief Ministers again. One is former Rajasthan CM and Gwalior royal scion Vasundhara Raje Scindia, while the other one is former Madhya Pradesh CM Uma Bharti.

Both the leaders are currently sidelined by the present day BJP and are politically in hibernation. But, both are not willing to go down without putting up a fight. Vasundhara Raje faction, which kept aloof from the local body elections in Rajasthan has ensured that the BJP got only 38 per cent seats, while the Congress walked away with 52 per cent. Her supporters have recently met and demanded that she be declared the CM candidate of the party to salvage the party's prestige. Meanwhile, Uma Bharti has decided to launch a massive state-wide yatra demanding total prohibition in Madhya Pradesh. This is being seen as targeting sitting CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The party leadership has sidelined both the leaders. In Rajasthan, the state committee is filled with anti-Vasundhara leaders like Narendra Tomar and Gajendra Shekawat. Uma Bharti's supporters do not find any place in the party hierarchy. Hence the two women are hitting back to prove that they still matter in their respective states.
